The new movie on the box office block is a sequal to a 1984 science fiction film set in space called The Last Starfighter.
The film tells a tale of Alex Rogan’s co-pilot in the original film, Grigg, who is brought back from outer space to fight alongside Alex in Falujah, Iraq. Rogan, now a U.S. Marine and soldier on the front line, takes Grigg under his wing and instructs him in the art of ground combat.
When Grigg is brutally killed by a roadside bomb, the film follows Alex’s struggle to come to terms with his friend’s death. Eventually Alex decides the only way he can be at peace is to give Griggs a proper burial, so sets off through the desert carrying the charred remains of his friend, as he tries to find a way to return him to outer space.
