Chasing Deals

Australian comedy renegades The Chaser are reportedly closing in on a three-year, $6 million deal with the ABC. Some say that three years seems just a little bit too coincidental for such a contract.

Rumours have surfaced that this was a parallel move backed by a recommendation from Wayne Swan to the Reserve Comedy Bank of Australia (RCBA) to guarantee the presence of at least one reasonably humerous program on Australian television. With so much NINJA (Not Interesting, No Jokes at All) television commissioned by other broadcasters, some say the current hilarity climate in Australia is highly unstable.

The unlimited guarantee, and this investment in particular, will help bolster confidence in the flailing Aussie chuckle.
